This is a puzzle created in Articulate Storyline. I wanted to create a puzzle with straight edges and opted for a basic hexagonal style.
I’ve taken a picture of Mount Fuji; divided it into segments using PowerPoint background fill and saved each segment as a separate image. I encountered the problem of maintaining the segment sizes when saving as an image and had to manipulate them when importing them to Storyline. This has resulted in alignment issues when each segment is dropped on its target but as an example of concept I’ve let it be!
I’ve then used Storyline’s drag and drop quiz to match each segment to its corresponding position. Because they are hexagonal and relatively similar sizes, this is not a straight forward puzzle and I’ve added extra pressure by including a self made timer using Storyline’s motion paths, triggers and variables.
